Planting instructions
1. Planting time
Long chilli likes heat and are more suitable for growing in a mild climate and sunny environment, so the planting time needs to be determined according to the local climate. For example, Thailand has a relatively high temperature throughout the year, so it can be planted at any time.
2. Planting method
The planting method of long chili is actually much simpler. Generally, seed sowing is used, and then the chili seedlings are transplanted. When sowing, we need to spread the seeds apart, not too dense, so that we will not pull the seedlings well in the future.
3. Sunshine requirements
Long chilli has a relatively high demand for sunlight. We should not plant them in a dark environment, but ensure that the sun is sufficient, so that the chilli can grow particularly well. We need to pay special attention to this, otherwise it is likely to cause no chilli fruit.
4. Soil requirements
The requirements of long chilli on the soil are not particularly high. Both sandy soil and yellow soil can be planted, but we need to ensure that the soil is relatively loose. That can promote the growth of roots, and it is best to choose fertile soil for planting.
The soil suitable for planting is neutral or weakly alkaline. If the soil is relatively acidic, it can be adjusted with lime powder, if the alkaline is relatively high, it can be adjusted by adding cinder.
5. Sowing seedlings
(1) The seeds should be treated before sowing, and the seeds should be exposed to the sun for 2 days, which can not only increase the germination rate of the seeds, but also kill the germs carried by the seeds, or use diluted potassium permanganate to soak for sterilization , and then soak in warm water for about 12 hours.
(2) Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the seedling bed, cover about 1 cm of the soil, spray water to moisten the soil, keep the temperature at about 25-28℃, wait for about 7 days to germinate, and when the seedlings grow to 5 cm, it can be planted.
(3) The root system of the long chilli is relatively weak. When planting, it is better to plant in furrow or flat; when it is just planted, it should not be buried deeply, but it can be covered with shallow soil and gradually cultivated as it grows. The plant shape of the long chilli is compact. It can be densely planted during this period, and the plant spacing is generally 30-45 cm, and the row spacing is 50-60 cm.
6. Water reasonably
After we have planted the long chilli, we need to water them reasonably. Generally, we can water once every 2 days. We need to ensure that the soil is moist. Secondly, we generally best choose to water before the sun appeared in the morning.
7. Reasonable fertilization
We also need to carry out reasonable fertilization in the later period. Generally, it is better to fertilize every half a month. It is better to choose organic fertilizer for fertilization. Before fertilization, it is best to loosen the soil first, and then fertilize. This is conducive to the melting and absorption of fertilizers.
