Kolor Kut Water Finding Paste A useful product to detect the presence of water in your fuel tank. The Kolor Kut water finding paste comes in 3oz tubes. Apply it to either a clean rod or piece of string and lower to the bottom of your tank. The brown paste will turn red when it comes into contact with water, which also indicates the depth of water in your tank. If water is detected in your tank, then please have a look at our range of fuel tank filters to rectify the problem. For testing for the presence of water at the bottom of fuel storage tanks Suitable only for use with Petrol, Gas Oil, Heating Oil, Heavy Oil, and Lubricating Oil Applied to a rod / length of string with bottom weight, the brown paste changes colour to brilliant red where it comes into contact with water, giving you a visual indication as to the depth of the water present.

The water can then be pumped out, and the test repeated until there is insufficient water to pump, at which point one of our Water-Seekers or Oilybits Water Absorbing Polymer can be used to absorb the last of it. To remove the bulk of the water we would first recommend pumping the water out with a simple self-priming waste oil/water pump, such as our Drill Powered, Flexible Impellor Pumps, or Mains Powered Flexible Impeller Pumps, and a length of Hose before using the absorbtion media as described above In both the Energy Institute’s HM-28 page 26 5.1.9.1 and the IFIA Bulletin, both recommend that ‘two’ different water finding pastes are ‘initially’ used, so you may wish to select another water finding paste to use in conjunction with this paste, from our selection  No official expiry date, will keep best when stored between 31F and 115F Tube contents 3oz 12 tubes per full box
